Our magazine poster is a technique used to
advertise our artists album. This procedure isn’t used as much now as
technology has developed allowing new ways to promote, however, this will be
displayed in a magazine.
As used
in our music promo, we wanted the background to be lit with a luminous purple
light. This runs with our these and will attract our audience’s attention. Like
the album cover, we shall use the protagonist Bella’s face who stars in the
music video as the centre focus of artwork. We will take a medium close up shot
and use a spot light to show facial definition and structure. Bella will have
chalk paint splattered up half her face making it unique and eye-catching. Her
hair shall be positioned behind her shoulders and out of her face as it draws
focus to her neutral face and shows off skin which contributes to the male gaze
as it suggests a ‘nude appearance’ as well as purely.
Font is
bold and thin contract in white. ‘Purple’ is written along the top which
matches the theme colour connecting music, album, advertising and pervious
creations making it recognisable. ‘Feelings’ written down the side creates a
mood through adding emotion, feelings are dainty and vulnerable something that
everyone can connect/relate to. This is an unusual layout making it more one of
a kind and stand out from other pages of a magazine.
‘Jerry
folk’ written in ‘his’ font style along protagonist’s chest to make reinforce brand
loyalty. This will be bigger than then text below.
Information
listed at the bottom on the poster will consist of: Album debut, Hit single
“Lose it – Oh Wonder Remix’, album release date: 23rd December and
production companies: Folkestad Recordings followed by their logo below. Space
allowed for logos as these are more interesting and would be remembered and
identified in the future generating money for the companies labelled. At the
bottom of this information Jerry Folk’s link shall be below to spread news
about him and his music to generate publicity.

Digital Version of Magazine:
We hoped, that after we have created our magazine poster it will look as authentic and high quality as this initial draft with out personal adjustments.
Digital Version of Magazine:
We hoped, that after we have created our magazine poster it will look as authentic and high quality as this initial draft with out personal adjustments.
Key Pointers:
- Keep similar to album digipak to make sure it is recognised as a Jerry Folk production and product.
- must be unique with selected colours and text used to make it stand out from other albums.
- Ghosting a still picture would have been too complexed and would have ruined the colour effects applied and therefore have decided to use a paint effect instead to capture attention.
