We
had to ask permission to use the locations for our music video and check the
terms and condition of the use. For our music promo, some locations were easier
to access than others as they required more planning for availability.
Firstly, we spoke to our media teacher regarding the use of equipment and use of the media suite. we have to select an appropriate time and check with the class and school time table when it would be available. We were able to film this our projector shots and bedroom shots first.
The
easiest location to secure was the footage we required in Michelle’s Loft
Bedroom, this would be the most natural scene and therefore this was the
perfect premises. Michelle spoke to her parents in advance as to when it would
be appropriate to film.
The
dance studio was the hardest location to acquire. We emailed many facilities
such as Furze Platt, Magnet Leisure Centre and St. Pirans, however, these accommodations
were either too expensive or didn’t get back to us. After speaking to the
dancers, BCA was suggested. As long as we used the times out of the college
timetable, the organiser was fairly flexible. This dance studio is exactly how
we wanted it to be, mirror wall and spacious.
Due to unforeseen circumstances and communication difficulties, we got BCA's facility organisers mobile number to enable us to contact with ease.
For the stage shots, we aimed for a place like Norden Farm as we would have the full facility and lights to make our video as high quality as possible. After contacting the company with our dates and reason, the cost to hire the area we wanted would have cost us too much as we are only a low budget production.
Our
back up was the use of the Newlands Girls’ School Stage in the main hall. We
therefore we emailed Mrs Claxton, Head of the PE department to check when the
hall would be free to match the availability of the cast. Although it wasn’t as
grand as Norden Farm, we still had the use of some lighting equipment and
enough space to film from several angles.
