First Drafts to Final Product

After receiving feedback on our ancillary texts, we made some changes to make our products more successful and professional. This post shows a comparison of the original creation and final production.

Front:

  • Change the text font – make them the same to make it look more professional.
  • Change the text position – keep the title at the top but reposition the artists name to make itmore interesting.
  • Increase the size of Bella to draw the focus on her.

Back:

  • Smaller text of the song titles – draw more focus to the protagonist’s face.
  • Bigger image of Bella – make it the focal point of the back panel.
  • Smaller barcode
  • Copyright information should be added.
  • Remove the paint splatter line - Increase the quality of the panel
  • Change the font – add continuity between panels and magazine advert.

Side:

  • Text positioning – Centre the text.
  • Add production logo – Increased the professionality of album.
  • Add shadowing to title to make it stand out – Catches the attention when on the shelf.

Disk:

  • Change text position -  make it more unique and interesting
  • Show design through the disk centre – Show the image is reflected behind the disk

Inside:

  • Increase the size of paint explosion.
As we were unsure about this change, we decided to ask our focus group what they thought.
Lexie: "Change to larger as it creates more of an impact on the audience."
Samuel: "Change it because it make the panel brighter and more colourful."
Jessica: "Keep the same as I like its a feature rather than the background."
Freddie: "I think change it because it makes it more eye catching and unique.

Magazine:

  • Increase size of Bella – centre of magazine advert to capture attention
  • Positioning of record label
  • Change size of text – Show importance through size
